HASBAYA-WOMEN-INFIRMARY

The Hasbaya Infirmary for Women was established in 2002 to satisfy an urgent need for medical care. The region’s conservative social views and the lack of women doctors served as the foundation for the establishment of an infirmary restricted to women and children. A rotating shift of four female doctors (two days/week each) keeps the infirmary staffed full time.  They provide tests for eyesight, osteoporosis and glandular problems, as well as physical therapy and laboratory services for more than 2000 women and children annually.
